Setting up a generic outgoing routing rule is a good way to test your channel settings before routing the selected numbers through different channels. The basic outgoing routing rule matches any dialed number and routes it through a selected channel.
This article describes how to define a general outgoing routing rule group to be used for testing a channel's settings.
Step-by-step guide
STEP 1: Go to Channels → Outgoing routing page.
STEP 2: Create a new routing group or select an existing one.
STEP 3: Add a new rule:
[Target number matches] number [.] and call is made in time interval [Anytime] coming from []
route trough [The_channel or Best Cost] and [Prefix] (with) [] Add in position [1] and make it final [x]
where The_channel is the channel you wish to route through. You can use also Best cost for using VoipNow's least call routing mechanism
If charging is already enabled on your system, select the Outgoing Routing Rule Group from the administrator's charging plan used by the Service provider who owns your test extension. Also, select the Outgoing Routing Rule Group in the Service Povider's settings page.
Once you have set up everything, any call made to any number gets routed through the channel you have selected.
